Another unconvincing performance against Kildare but luckily the same outcome as Athlone ran out winners in League and Cup.
It was a typical Athlone game this season where they could have scored 4 or 5 but at the same time were lucky not to concede more. Highlights for the game were the performance from FAI Ford Cup Man of the Match Robbie Benson, who had a cracking free kick smack off the post and fly along but not over the line. Also another valuable 1st team appearance from fellow teen Kevin Horan who showed no sign of fear as he mixed it with the big boys.
