Athlone Town 2-2 Kildare County

Definately 2 points lost than 1 point gained. John McGuinness was lobbed twice without ever making an effort to get to the ball. The 2nd was deflected but to make no effort what-so-ever is unforgivable. 3 time in 2 games!!!

Des Hope popped up with a powerful header to put Athlone in the lead and after County equalised, Robbie Benson restored the lead when a deceptive free kick crept in at the back post as the Kildare keeper watched it curl at the last minute and into the net.

Davy Byrne should have been sent off for general acts of thuggary. He also quite childishly start giving the crowd the fingers, along the side of his head … like people usually do in 4th class in National School!!!
