0931 Athlone Town v Waterford United

Saturday 19th September 2009 – FAI League of Ireland Division 1
Athlone Town 1-2 Waterford United.

Waterford down to 9 men after 20 minutes yet we were the ones run ragged and dragged all over the pitch for the remaining 70! Striker Stephen Place filled in at centre-half but bizarrely when pushing everything up front Steve stayed at the back while centre half Des Hope went up front!

Noel McGee came off the bench to net another goal and was very unlucky to have another one cleared off the line. Other than that the only positive was local lad Stephen Relighan came on as a sub to make his Senior debut for the Club.
