Mervue United 0-1 Athlone Town

1st game of the new season and Town are away to new boys Mervue United. Mervue fielded 3 former Town players, namely Dave O’Brien, Nigel Keady and David O’Dowd

Athlone Town opened the season with a 1-0 victory courtesy of a Noel McGee goal. Damien Rush also missed a peno.

This was my 1st ever League game to shoot under floodlights and to say it was a disaster is an understatement. My f/4 lens was of little or no use under the Terryland lights and so I got hardly any pictures. Harsh and expensive lesson for the future learned!
